Avatar: Flight of Passage - Tips and Tricks

Updated: Feb 12, 2020

Is there a way to ride Avatar: Flight of Passage without waiting 4 hours in line? Yes. Yes there is. Here are a few tips and tricks.

FastPass+

Fast Passes are your best friend when trying to get onto Avatar: Flight of Passage. At Walt Disney World, with a valid park ticket, FastPasses can be made in advance for certain attractions through the MyDisneyExperience app and can provide you with a designated time to arrive and skip the line. Sounds great, right? Here's the best way to go about it:

60-Day Advance Bookings

When staying at a Walt Disney Word Resort, you have access to make FastPass+ reservations up to 60 days in advance. This is, hands down, your best bet when it comes to making reservations for Flight of Passage. You should plan on signing into the MyDisneyExperience app or website on the morning of that 60 day window to book your time. Keep in mind that you can only book FastPass+ reservations for one park at a time, so once you've booked your FastPass+ reservation for Flight of Passage, you'll only be able to select Animal Kingdom for the remaining FastPass+ reservations for that day.

30-Day Advance Bookings

Guests that are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort are still able to make FastPass+ reservations with a valid park ticket. Those guests are able to log into the MyDisneyExperience app or website 30 days in advance to secure their reservations. Due to the popularity of this attraction, FastPass+ reservations will be limited.

Extra Magic Hours

Didn't have a chance to snag a FastPass+ reservation? No problem! There's one more chance you might have to get onto the ride without much of a wait time... This will be for those guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. For those guests with a hotel reservation and valid park tickets, Extra Magic Hours are available. Certain parks will have two to three hour windows (either before park opening or after park closing) that are reserved exclusively for hotel guests. My recommendation would be to arrive early for one of the morning Extra Magic Hours offerings. Those guests that arrive early are able to walk onto the ride with a minimal wait time, if they can beat the crowds.
